Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to keep the information on this website accurate and current. However, product specifications, equipment availability, service features, monitoring options, manufacturers, pricing and service areas may change without notice.
Website information is provided for general informational purposes. It is not a final quote, security assessment, installation agreement, monitoring agreement, warranty or guarantee unless expressly confirmed in a separate written agreement from Calgary Security Systems Inc.
Images displayed on the website may be representative. The appearance, model, features or availability of installed equipment may differ.
Quotes and Service Requests
Quote requests submitted through the website are requests for information only. Submitting a form, sending an email or speaking with a representative does not create a binding service agreement.
Unless otherwise stated in writing:
- Quotes are based on the information available when they are prepared;
- A site inspection may be required before pricing or equipment recommendations can be finalized;
- Quotes may be subject to equipment availability, installation conditions, taxes and third-party charges;
- Additional work that was not reasonably visible or disclosed when the quote was prepared may result in additional charges;
- Promotional pricing and offers may have eligibility requirements or expiry dates; and
- A quote may be withdrawn or revised before it is accepted.
A binding agreement is created only when the applicable written quote, work order, service agreement or monitoring agreement has been accepted by the parties.
Separate Customer Agreements
Security-system installations, monitoring services, equipment purchases, financing arrangements, maintenance plans and other paid services may be governed by separate written agreements.
Those agreements may contain additional terms relating to:
- Equipment ownership;
- Installation charges;
- Monitoring fees;
- Contract length;
- Renewal and cancellation;
- Early termination;
- Service calls;
- Warranties;
- Payment obligations;
- False-alarm charges;
- Third-party services; and
- Limits of liability.
Where a separate written customer agreement conflicts with these website Terms and Conditions, the separate customer agreement will govern the applicable products or services.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict a right or remedy that cannot legally be waived under applicable consumer-protection legislation.
Security Assessments and Recommendations
Security recommendations are based on the information provided by the customer, the conditions reasonably observable at the property and the products or services selected by the customer.
No security system can eliminate every risk or guarantee that a break-in, fire, flood, equipment failure, personal injury, property loss or other emergency will not occur.
Customers remain responsible for deciding which equipment and services meet their needs. Customers should tell us about relevant risks, property conditions, pets, occupants, access requirements, internet limitations, telephone or cellular coverage, insurance requirements and any other circumstances that could affect the system.
Installation Requirements
The customer must provide reasonable and safe access to the property and to the areas where equipment will be installed, inspected, repaired or removed.
The customer is responsible for:
- Confirming that they own the property or have authority from the owner to approve the work;
- Obtaining any required landlord, condominium, property-manager or third-party consent;
- Identifying concealed wiring, plumbing, utilities, hazardous materials or unusual construction conditions known to the customer;
- Providing suitable electrical power, internet service and network access when required;
- Keeping work areas reasonably clear and safe;
- Protecting valuables, sensitive materials and confidential information in the work area; and
- Ensuring that children and pets remain safely away from active work areas.
We may suspend or reschedule work when conditions are unsafe, access is unavailable, required services are not operational or circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent the work from being completed.
Minor drilling, fastening, cable routing and other reasonable physical alterations may be necessary to install security equipment. The proposed installation location and method should be discussed before work begins.
Internet, Cellular and Electrical Requirements
Some security, camera, automation and mobile-app features depend on services that Calgary Security Systems Inc. does not control, including:
- Electrical power;
- Internet access;
- Wi-Fi performance;
- Cellular coverage;
- Customer-owned routers and network equipment;
- Mobile devices;
- Third-party applications;
- Cloud services; and
- Manufacturer or monitoring-provider systems.
Service performance may be interrupted or reduced by power outages, network failures, weak wireless signals, internet interruptions, cellular congestion, equipment incompatibility, software updates, third-party outages or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
The customer is responsible for maintaining any customer-supplied internet, network, mobile or electrical services required for the system.
Alarm Monitoring and Emergency Response
Monitoring services may be provided by an independent monitoring provider under a separate monitoring agreement.
Alarm monitoring is not a replacement for calling 911 or the appropriate emergency service when a person knows or reasonably suspects that an emergency is occurring.
Alarm signals can be delayed, interrupted, misdirected or not received because of equipment failure, power loss, communication interruption, user error, network failure, environmental conditions or circumstances outside the reasonable control of Calgary Security Systems Inc. or the monitoring provider.
Police, fire, ambulance and other emergency-response services are operated independently. Neither Calgary Security Systems Inc. nor a monitoring provider controls whether, when or how an emergency authority responds to an alarm signal.
The customer is responsible for keeping emergency contacts, passcodes, property information and call-list instructions current.
Permits, Registrations and False Alarms
Some municipalities, police services, fire authorities, insurers or other organizations may require alarm registration, permits, inspections or compliance with local requirements.
Unless a written agreement expressly states otherwise, the customer is responsible for:
- Determining whether a permit or registration is required;
- Obtaining and renewing required permits or registrations;
- Paying permit, registration, inspection or response fees;
- Complying with applicable bylaws and property rules; and
- Paying charges or penalties arising from false alarms.
Customers should use the system according to the instructions provided and notify us promptly about recurring false alarms, damaged equipment or unusual system behaviour.
Customer Use and Maintenance
Customers must use security equipment responsibly and in accordance with the applicable instructions, manufacturer documentation and laws.
Customers are responsible for:
- Protecting usernames, passwords, access codes and mobile devices;
- Limiting system access to authorized users;
- Updating or removing user codes when access should change;
- Testing the system as recommended;
- Replacing customer-serviceable batteries when required;
- Reporting damaged, missing or malfunctioning equipment;
- Maintaining a suitable operating environment;
- Installing software or firmware updates when appropriate; and
- Avoiding unauthorized modification, relocation or repair of equipment.
Customers must not use cameras, audio devices, access-control systems or other equipment unlawfully or in a manner that violates another person's privacy.
Calgary Security Systems Inc. does not provide legal advice regarding camera placement, audio recording, employee monitoring, tenant surveillance or privacy compliance. Customers are responsible for obtaining legal advice when needed.
Video and Audio Recordings
Where a system includes video or audio features, the customer controls how those features are used unless otherwise stated in a separate agreement.
The customer is responsible for:
- Choosing lawful camera and device locations;
- Providing notices or obtaining consent when legally required;
- Managing access to recordings;
- Protecting account credentials;
- Setting retention preferences;
- Exporting or preserving recordings when required; and
- Complying with privacy, employment, tenancy and other applicable laws.
Recordings may be unavailable because of storage limitations, overwritten data, equipment malfunction, connectivity problems, account configuration, third-party outages or other technical conditions.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, Calgary Security Systems Inc. does not continuously review, preserve or monitor customer video or audio recordings.
Third-Party Products and Services
We may supply, install, configure or recommend products and services provided by third parties, including equipment manufacturers, software providers, cloud-service providers and monitoring companies.
Third-party products and services may be governed by their own:
- Terms of use;
- Privacy policies;
- Licensing conditions;
- Warranties;
- Subscription fees;
- Data-storage practices; and
- Service limitations.
Customers may be required to accept third-party terms before using certain products, applications or monitoring services.
Calgary Security Systems Inc. does not control and is not responsible for changes made by a third-party provider to its applications, services, pricing, compatibility, policies or product availability.
Product and Service Availability
Products, models, manufacturers, features and service plans shown on the website may be changed, substituted, discontinued or become unavailable.
Where a quoted product is unavailable, we may propose a reasonably comparable alternative. Any material substitution will be discussed with the customer before installation whenever reasonably possible.
We do not guarantee that every product or service displayed on the website will be available in every service area or for every property.
Pricing and Payment
Website prices, including references to plans starting at a particular monthly amount, represent general starting prices or examples unless expressly stated otherwise.
Actual pricing may depend on:
- Equipment selection;
- Property size and layout;
- Installation complexity;
- Existing wiring and equipment;
- Monitoring features;
- Communication services;
- Subscription options;
- Travel requirements;
- Taxes; and
- Additional customer requests.
Payment terms will be stated in the applicable quote, invoice, work order or customer agreement.
Overdue balances may affect scheduling, technical support, monitoring or other services, subject to the applicable agreement and law.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Cancellation, renewal and termination rights for installations, monitoring services or other paid services are governed by the applicable customer agreement and Alberta law.
Customers should provide reasonable notice when an installation or service appointment must be rescheduled.
We may charge a reasonable cancellation or service-call fee when permitted by the applicable agreement, particularly when:
- A technician has already travelled to the property;
- Access is unavailable;
- The customer or authorized representative is absent;
- Required utilities or services are not operational; or
- The work area is unsafe or not ready.
Any fee will remain subject to applicable consumer-protection requirements.
Warranties
Manufacturer warranties may apply to eligible equipment. Warranty length, coverage and exclusions vary by manufacturer and product.
A warranty may not cover:
- Accidental or intentional damage;
- Misuse;
- Unauthorized repairs or modifications;
- Damage caused by pets, pests, moisture, renovation or construction;
- Electrical surges or unsuitable power;
- Internet, Wi-Fi or customer-network problems;
- Lost passwords or account credentials;
- Consumable batteries;
- Cosmetic damage;
- Normal wear;
- Third-party service interruptions; or
- Events outside reasonable control.
Any workmanship warranty offered by Calgary Security Systems Inc. will be described in the applicable quote, invoice or service agreement.
Nothing in this section limits a warranty or consumer right that applies by law.
Service Calls and Technical Support
Technical support may sometimes be provided remotely by telephone, email, application access or other electronic methods.
Some issues can be resolved remotely, while others require an on-site service call.
Charges may apply for:
- Work outside the original installation scope;
- Non-warranty service;
- Customer-caused problems;
- Customer network or internet problems;
- Relocation of equipment;
- Changes requested after installation;
- Support for unsupported or obsolete equipment; or
- Visits where no defect in supplied equipment or workmanship is found.
Applicable charges should be disclosed before chargeable work proceeds whenever reasonably practical.
No Guarantee Against Loss
Security systems are intended to help detect, deter, report or reduce certain risks. They are not insurance and cannot guarantee personal safety or prevent every loss.
Calgary Security Systems Inc. does not represent that a system will:
- Prevent criminal activity;
- Prevent or extinguish a fire;
- Prevent flooding, freezing or carbon-monoxide exposure;
- Prevent injury or property damage;
- Operate without interruption;
- Detect every event;
- Cause emergency services to respond within a particular time; or
- Replace appropriate insurance, safety procedures or emergency planning.
Customers should maintain suitable property, liability and other insurance based on their circumstances.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Calgary Security Systems Inc. will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential losses arising solely from use of, or inability to use, this website.
The responsibility of Calgary Security Systems Inc. for installed equipment, monitoring arrangements, service work or other paid services will be governed by the applicable customer agreement and applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by law, including rights and remedies that cannot be waived under applicable consumer-protection legislation.

- The submission reflects your honest experience;

Articles, guides, security tips, product information and other content published in the Calgary Security Systems Inc. blog are provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
Calgary Security Systems Blog content is not a substitute for a property-specific security assessment, professional installation recommendation, emergency advice, insurance advice, legal advice or the instructions provided by an equipment manufacturer, monitoring provider or emergency authority.

Any examples, scenarios or results described in an article are illustrative. Actual system performance and customer results depend on the property, equipment, installation, connectivity, monitoring services, system maintenance and other circumstances.
